OUR FLORAL COLLECTIONS

Choosing Your Florals

Artificial or Fresh Florals?

Both can look beautiful on the day. The best fit usually comes down to the overall look you want, your venue setup, and how much flexibility you need from morning through to evening.

Artificial Florals

Best for consistency, scale, and all-day impact

  • Beautifully styled from the first guest arrival to the last dance
  • Ideal for statement arches, aisle meadows, and larger installs
  • Less weather-sensitive and easier to plan around venue timings
Fresh Florals

Best for fragrance, seasonality, and a just-picked feel

  • Perfect when you want a softer, naturally seasonal finish
  • Lovely for bouquets, buttonholes, bud vases, and personal flowers
  • Great when scent and texture are part of the atmosphere you want to create

Decor Ideas For Weddings In Newmarket

Every Newmarket venue has its own personality, and the decor that suits a flint barn at Woodditton won't suit a Grade II ballroom on the High Street. Here's how I approach styling across the area's most-booked venues.

For country estates like Chippenham Park, Branches Park and Swynford Manor

Newmarket's country estates are made for romantic, garden-led decor. The grounds are doing half the work for you, so the styling needs to complement what's already there rather than compete with it. I lean into abundant greenery, garden roses, sweet peas (in season), mantelpiece installations on original fireplaces, and aisle markers that lead the eye out into the grounds. Natural palettes (cream, sage, blush, soft lavender, dusty pink) sit best against the brickwork and panelling. If you've got access to the gardens for the ceremony, a free-standing floral arch against the landscape is one of the most photographed setups I do.

For heritage town venues like the Jockey Club Rooms and Kings Newmarket

The Grade II listed venues in the centre of Newmarket carry serious history, and the decor needs to sit alongside it without overpowering it. Overcrowding these rooms with florals fights the architecture. I usually recommend a statement ceremony arch that echoes the room's proportions, tall pedestal arrangements either side of the aisle, and restrained but elegant table styling: white or ivory linen, charger plates, tapered candles, and compact centrepieces that won't block your guests' view of each other. Heritage venues often have rules around open flame and rigging from the ceiling, so we'll plan around those early. Less, done beautifully, always wins here.

For barn and rural venues like The Granary Estates and Tuddenham Mill

The 18th century flint barns and converted mills around Newmarket are some of the prettiest barn venues in the East. They've already got texture in the walls: exposed beams, original stone, working millstones. The decor should lean into that, not paper over it. I'd suggest long trestle tables with foliage runners (eucalyptus and olive branches), bud vases in clusters, hanging installations to break up the height of the roof, and warm candlelight throughout. Cross-back chairs sit better than Chiavari chairs in these spaces (something the venue's own chair stock often gets wrong, ahem). Palette-wise, terracotta, burnt orange, and dusty rose all feel right against original timber.

For hotel, spa and racecourse venues like Bedford Lodge Hotel and Newmarket Racecourses

Hotel and racecourse venues give you the most freedom, and therefore need the most thought. When the room isn't telling you what to do, your colour palette and florals have to lead. Bedford Lodge's white stucco and rose gardens lean traditional and romantic, so I'd push towards English garden florals, peonies (in season), and softer palettes. Newmarket Racecourses' suites are more modern and flexible, which means bolder colour blocking, hanging floral installations, and statement tablescapes work brilliantly. This is also where couples nodding to the racing heritage can do it tastefully: silks colours woven into table linens, or trophy-style florals, without leaning into theme-wedding territory.

Wedding Decoration Hire in Newmarket

Newmarket has a feel that no other Suffolk town shares: chalk heathland on every side, Georgian shopfronts running down the High Street, and a working racing town with horses given right of way at the lights. It's a place that brings serious heritage and serious character in equal measure.

Our job is to build wedding decor that earns its place in rooms like that. As your Newmarket wedding decorator, we listen to what you want the day to feel like, and then shape the styling around the venue you've chosen.

If you're looking for wedding decor hire in Newmarket that's considered, beautifully finished, and genuinely tailored to the venue, Events By Beau can help.

Here's how we work. We agree a design with you, share a simple timeline, and handle the coordination with your venue and other suppliers so you don't have to.

On the day, we're first in and last out: laying linens, dressing chairs, placing candles, arranging florals, and moving pieces between ceremony and reception so the day flows cleanly from one space to the next. We label every box, bring spares of everything, and leave the venue the way we found it — because the small things matter most on a wedding morning.

The design starts with mood. We'll suggest seasonal florals, hand-tied bouquets, layered table arrangements, focal centrepieces, and statement backdrops. From there we add the details that make a room feel intentional rather than busy: textured accessories, useful props, and height that pulls the eye upward.

How you book us is flexible. Choose straightforward hire of the pieces you need, or go end-to-end with design, styling, and on-the-day coordination. The brief can lean modern, romantic, rustic, or bold. We'll keep the thread consistent across every space, from ceremony to reception.

We've styled weddings across Newmarket and the wider West Suffolk area — Grade II listed venues in the centre of town, country estates out towards Cheveley and Woodditton, flint barns near Dullingham, and country house weddings on the Cambridge corridor.

Share your date, a few images you love, and the venue you've booked. We'll come back with options that fit your space and budget: the right pieces, the right pace, and a room that feels like the start of your marriage.

Newmarket Wedding Decorator FAQs

How much does wedding decor hire in Newmarket cost?

Full pricing is on the package cards above. For a rough guide, most Newmarket weddings I style with full decor packages sit between £2,200 and £4,500, depending on guest numbers and the level of styling. Bespoke packages for larger or more unusual venues, including the racecourse suites and exclusive-use country estates, start from £5,000.

Do you travel to all wedding venues in Newmarket?

Yes. I cover the whole of Newmarket and the surrounding West Suffolk and Cambridgeshire fringe, including Cheveley, Woodditton, Exning, Kentford, Dullingham, and out towards Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.

Which Newmarket wedding venues do you work with most often?

I've styled weddings at The Granary Estates, Chippenham Park, Bedford Lodge Hotel, Tuddenham Mill, Kings Newmarket, the Jockey Club Rooms, and Newmarket Racecourses, among others. If your venue isn't on my recent venues list, tell me where. I'll have either decorated or worked somewhere similar in the area.

How far in advance should I book a Newmarket wedding decorator?

12 to 18 months is standard, especially for peak season (May to September). Newmarket also has the racing calendar to factor in: Guineas weekend, July meetings, and the autumn sales at Tattersalls all push local hotel rooms to capacity, so couples planning round those weekends tend to book even earlier. That said, if your date is closer than that, please still get in touch. I occasionally have last-minute availability.

Can I customise the packages?

Absolutely. Every package can be tailored around your specific venue, colour scheme, and guest count. Popular add-ons include charger plates, ceremony arches, and flower walls. If you want something completely bespoke, my custom service starts at £5,000.

What if my Newmarket venue has unusual decor restrictions?

Most of Newmarket's heritage and listed venues have rules around open flame, rigging, and wall fixings. I've worked within all of them, and I'll check with your venue before finalising the design. If they won't allow real candles, we'll use high-quality LED candles. Restrictions shape the design, but they rarely kill it.

Do you offer setup-only services?

Yes. If you've sourced your own decor and just need help setting it up on the day, I offer a "lend a hand" service from £1000 plus delivery. Popular with DIY couples who want a professional finish without full-service styling.

What about weddings at country venues outside Newmarket itself?

Plenty of my Newmarket couples end up marrying at venues a short drive out — Chippenham, Cheveley, Six Mile Bottom, the Cambridge corridor, or the Bury St Edmunds direction. All of those count as within my standard travel area, with no extra surcharge on the package. If you're unsure whether your venue's covered, drop me a message with the postcode and I'll confirm.
