Every Warwick venue has its own personality, and the decor that suits a 14th-century castle won't suit a converted farm barn. Here's how I approach styling across the area's most-booked venues.

For Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle is the venue most couples in Warwickshire dream about, and styling it well is mostly about restraint. The Great Hall and State Dining Room come pre-loaded with stone walls, heraldic detail, and chandeliers that already do half the work. Heavy floral installations fight the architecture; layered, considered styling complements it. I usually recommend tall pedestal arrangements flanking the aisle, candelabra and tapered candles down long banquet tables, low garlands of foliage rather than competing florals, and a deeper colour palette: burgundy, plum, blush, or aged ivory. Tones that flatter the stonework rather than fight it. For historic and Grade I venues like The Lord Leycester and The Court House

Warwick's historic centre has a few proper showstoppers: The Lord Leycester's medieval timber-framed buildings and The Court House with its marble columns, crystal chandeliers and views over St Mary's Church. These spaces don't need much, and they don't want much. A statement ceremony arch sized to the room's proportions, restrained but elegant table styling (white linen, charger plates, slim candle tapers, compact centrepieces that don't block sightlines), and one well-placed floral focal point per room. Older Grade I venues tend to have strict rules around open flame and rigging, so we'll plan around those early. Less, done beautifully, always wins here.

Country house weddings around Warwick lean romantic and traditional, with Italianate gardens, panelled rooms, and grand fireplaces that ask for a country garden theme. Bourton Hall in the Leam Valley and Mallory Court near Royal Leamington Spa both reward abundant greenery, garden roses, sweet peas (in season), mantelpiece installations, and aisle markers running out into the gardens. Natural palettes (cream, sage, blush, soft lavender) feel right here, and seasonal florals always read better than imported. If you've got access to the gardens for the ceremony, a free-standing floral arch against rolling Warwickshire countryside is one of the most photographed setups I do.

For barn and rural venues like Shustoke Farm Barns and Wootton Park

The barn venues out around Warwick (Shustoke Farm Barns, Wootton Park, and Swallows Nest on the Cotswolds fringe) give you height, exposed brickwork, and original timber beams to play with. The mistake I see couples make is layering on too much rustic styling: hessian runners, twine, mismatched florals, and the result starts to feel like a styled photoshoot rather than a wedding. The opposite works better. Let the structure of the building lead, hang a single floral installation from the central beam, run long trestle tables with eucalyptus and amber-glass votives down the middle, and keep the colour palette warm and tight (terracotta, dusty pink, ochre, sage).
